AaronJB Posted September 17, 2011 Report Posted September 17, 2011 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)There are five four-star properties that have been reported to the board in the downtown STL area, and new hotels could potentially be reported to the board at any time. When bidding 4*, you have to be willing to accept any of the 4*'s in the area.Despite the game, rates don't appear that bad for 11/24; in terms of bidding for a 4* downtown, I'd start at $45, and I'm guessing you're likely looking at it taking $47-57 for a 4* win.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
crazydeals Posted September 18, 2011 Author Report Posted September 18, 2011 I am sorry, I am actually looking for the Sept 24 and 25 for the cards vs cubs that weekend. Any hotel ideas or bids to start at? I am very new to the site. Thanks, kyle
AaronJB Posted September 18, 2011 Report Posted September 18, 2011 9/24-26 is definitely a very busy period, especially the Cards vs Cubs rivalry. HOTWIRE has no 4/3.5* in the downtown area, and the highest rated listing is a 3* for $142. Downtown properties are quite expensive regular rate, with available 4*'s over $200-250.What would be your desired max budget per night?Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
crazydeals Posted September 19, 2011 Author Report Posted September 19, 2011 Hi there,I have tried the hyatt downtown at the arch for $80, the hilton at the ballpark for $90 and the westin for $90 with no luck. Any other pretty nice hotels in the St. Louis downtown area that you may suggest and how much to start off with them. Going on a budget and the tickets to the cards game has already put a hole in our budget.Any help would be appreciated!!!!!!!!!Thanks,Kyle
AaronJB Posted September 20, 2011 Report Posted September 20, 2011 Rates are definitely on the high side for these dates - as noted above, you may have to consider alternatives nearby the city.
thereuare Posted September 20, 2011 Report Posted September 20, 2011 What is the best rate you're able to find thru conventional booking channels? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
Bob24 Posted September 21, 2011 Report Posted September 21, 2011 If you drop down to 3.5 stars, the cheapest hotel you will probably get is the Crowne Plaza downtown. If you drop to 3 stars, you will probably get the Millenium. But, beware, I have NEVER read of a property with such poor reviews as the DT. St. Louis Millenium. The place is supposedly a huge dump, with the Priceline guests getting the dumpiest of the dumpy rooms. The only positive thing about the hotel is that it is right next to Busch and the Arch.
