Priceline Hotel: Need Help

Hello,

I've never had issues like this using Priceline. I'm looking for 4 rooms somewhere dowtown chicago either the loop or the River North and my last bid of 150 was rejected including 3.5 star rooms. I can't find any big events other than the bears game on sunday and can't figure out why nothing is working at that price. Got rejected at 138 for a 3 star when I see people getting rooms on convention weeks for under a 100 at the Hyatt and such. I've used priceline with your link many times in the past but this is the first time I've gotten rejected after sooooo many attempts! Is it the fact i'm looking for 4 rooms??? Is there something going on that weekend that nobody knows about. Please help if possible!

Unfortunately, rates can vary significantly from day-to-day, especially in larger cities. Given rates, I'm a little surprised that you haven't had a bid accepted. In terms of heading higher, I wouldn't head too much higher, as I think you're really not far off at the 4* level at all. Rates are definitely high these dates, and I'm not seeing a convention, but the game and seasonal traffic may be keeping rates high. If you were denied at $150 for a 4* in both downtown zones, I'd be surprised if you were denied at $160. I'd try again at $155 for both zones.

Additionally, using the site's PRICELINE link for past purchases is greatly appreciated. Please also share prior wins, as even for past trips, the information can still be helpful to others.

Thanks for the insight into this. I know 150ish is considered a decent deal for downtown but with no major conventions and only 1 hockey game and 1 football in town on the weekend, it still seems kinda high especially when I included 3.5 star up to 145 and still nothing. If I have any success, I'll be sure to post my win!

Do be aware that the hotels in the Greater Chicago area are a pretty good distance from downtown (I would not consider them walkable to/from downtown.)
