First off I want to thank this forum and it's administrators for the great website they've built. Before bidding for a hotel in NYC, I really got some useful information from this website!

Here is the situation:

I am looking for a hotelroom from October 25th (Tuesday) until October the 29th (Saturday). It regards a 4-night stay. So far I've bid using the techniques explained on this forum. I've bid up to 235 dollars a night for 3.5 star and 4 star hotels for the Manhattan area neighbourhoods, but I've excluded Upper Westside and Upper Eastside. So far, no luck! I don't see why this isn't working? 235 dollars is higher than the most bids I see on this forum which get accepted. And I'm not even starting about the fact that I've included 3.5 star hotels with the bidding of 235 dollar..

What am I doing wrong here? Is it because I request a stay of 4 nights? Is that too long? I am even on the point of booking a hotel through the 'regular' hotel sites such as booking.com, because they ask the same price.

Help is welcome! Thanks!

Welcome to BetterBidding!

Please start by reading your messages.

Rates are date specific, and rates for these nites are higher then usual, which typically then requires a higher then usual bid to be successful.

Most of the 3.5* and higher hotels i'm seeing thru traditional booking channels are selling for $300+... what hotels are you finding thru conventional methods which are priced the same as your bids have been?
