I'm looking at booking for October 25-29 in a Fort Lauderdale beach area hotel, this is the one that comes up that I'm interested in

Fort Lauderdale Beach area hotel

US $ per night - $148.00

Resort

Near Beach

Smoke Free Rooms

Fitness Center

Pool(s)

Restaurant(s)

Business Center

Laundry Facilities (self-service)

High-Speed Internet Access

Tennis Nearby

Children's Activity Program

Comparing to the list it seems as though it's the Westin Diplomat (no Trip Advisor Rating) but when looking up that resort on a map it's in the Hollywood Beach area, not what I consider the Fort Launderdale beach area..some of the reviews of the Hollywood Beach area Westin say the resort is great but not much in the area for fun and you should go into Fort Lauderdale for stuff to do. I would like to have the best of both worlds. I was hoping it would be the Westin Beach Resort and Spa.

Can anyone confirm what hotel this is?

Thanks!

Welcome to BetterBidding!

The property above is a match for the Westin Beach Resort, which is a different property then the Westin Diplomat (and the two properties are located in different HOTWIRE zones). This is the Westn at 321 North Fort Lauderdale Beach Boulevard.

I'm trying to get a deal on a Fort Lauderdale beach area hotel for 4*. Tried two different days, started bid at $65 and rebid in increments of $5 up to $75 and was recjected. Dates for travel are 10/25/11 to 10/28/11.

Should I keep trying on my current bidding amounts or try upping it. It's not urgent that I book today so if holding off gives me a better chance to hit the deal at the amount I want I will. I would accept anything under $100 for a hotel in this area 4* so I don't mind paying a little more...but not too much :)

Please keep all posts for the same stay in the same thread, if you ultimately use PRICELINE we'll then move this entire thread to that section of the board.

Nobody can say if rates will come down, or move higher, between now and your stay, but current rates for these dates are a bit higher then usual and i think you're going to need to work towards your upper limit.

At the 4* level in Ft Lauderdale you have FIVE re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.

Select 4* Ft Lauderdale Beach...

Bid $70, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $80, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $85, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $95, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $100

Any question feel free to ask.

Good luck and let us know how it goes.

I meant to post this tot he Priceline forum, it can be moved over there if you'd like. I will attempt again today but I will start my bidding at $75 and move up to $90 and see if that gets me anywhere.

I post back with my results to this thread.

Thanks!

I saw another poster on the Priceline forum get a 4* for $75/night for 2 weeks after our visit by selecting 3.5* so I will try this on my next bid.

My attempt today went to $105/night and was rejected.

Are you willing to accept a 3.5* property for this stay? If not, i wouldn't recommend bidding 3.5*.

The other user you're referencing didn't win because they bid 3.5* (and were upgraded to a 4* hotel)... it is likely that they won because rates for their dates are lower then for your own.
