flyingdiver Posted September 14, 2011 Report Posted September 14, 2011 Hi,Thanks for any help you can provide to me! I'm driving my family 2 adults + 2 kids(8 &11 yo) to Chicago in October 14-16. The prices seems to be creeping up as I have been looking the past week. It appears that timing plays into this? I see that hotwire is the way to go so that I can get sleeping for 4. I was hoping to pay under $200 for a 4*, but that doesn't look like the case today. My options are:4* Mag Mile/Streeterville - $256Boutique, Fitness, Rest, Bus Cntr, Internet - 95% cust reviews4* N Mich - Water Tower - $241Boutique, Nonsmk, Fit, Rest, Bus Cntr, Internet - 65% cust reviews3.5* Mag Mile/Streeterville - $242Fit, Pool, Rest, Bus Cntr, Internet - 90% cust reviews3* Mag Mile/ Streeterville - $214Comp Breakfast, Bus Cntr, Internet - 85% cust reviewAs you can see, not many options. Should I keep checking or will prices continue to creep up? My intial thought was the Water Tower Boutique, but the 65% review has me doubting that hotel. Since we will be driving, any way to find out how much parking will be?
AaronJB Posted September 14, 2011 Report Posted September 14, 2011 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)Guesses:3.5* Mag Mile/Streeterville: Doubletree Mag Mile3* Mag Mile - possible match for the Holiday Inn Express Cass.4* Mag Mile - are you also seeing smoke-free?4* NMA - are you also seeing golf?Rates are definitely expensive for these dates, unfortunately - September through December in Chicago can be very busy at times.I will suggest that if you're driving, I'm seeing what appear to be some potentially very nice deals for less than $70 in the North burbs. That would result in having to take a train in (the nicer Metra trains), but these are very nice areas and would be considerably cheaper.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
flyingdiver Posted September 14, 2011 Author Report Posted September 14, 2011 *4 Mag Mile - I'm not seeing nonsmoking icon. Could I request if I bid on this property?*4 NMA - I do see golfing
thereuare Posted September 14, 2011 Report Posted September 14, 2011 Best guess for the remaining:4* Mag MileHotel Monaco Chicago4* NMANO GUESS... but with only 65% recommendation from previous HOTWIRE guests, and not much savings vs. the other offers (ie- the 4* Mag Mile property gets stellar reviews with a 4.5/5.0 TA rating) i don't think there is much value here relative to the othersPlease use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
AaronJB Posted September 15, 2011 Report Posted September 15, 2011 I'm still seeing golf with the 4* NMA, but with the 65% and the 3.5/5 tripadvisor rating, I think the Whitehall would be a possibility.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
