abucktwenty Posted September 12, 2011 Report Posted September 12, 2011 Hi, First off what an awesome and helpful website. I have used priceline several times for booking a hotel and felt fairly confident in knowing what i was doing. I want to stay in a 5 star hotel on the strip 10/14-10/17 and started my bids a week ago around $95/night and have slowly worked up to $140 with no success at this point. I then came across hotwire and somehow got directed to this site which is extremely helpful! Anyway, i really don't want to stay at trump hotel and i am afraid if i continue to increase my north strip bid it will get accepted at Trump tower. When i look at hotwire i can get their 5 star deal for $159/night but it doesn't have a casino and from everything i gathered on this website that is the trump hotel.I looked on hotwire at each individual night and i can get a 5 star hotel north strip for $112 on 10/16. I was pretty certain that hotel was either the Venetian for Palazzo (which i really would love to stay the entire time at) Do you have any idea's or thoughts on what i could do or how high i should make my bid on priceline? I was surpised at $140 i didn't get anything. Thanks for your help!
AaronJB Posted September 12, 2011 Report Posted September 12, 2011 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)The Trump has been previously reported in the 5* Strip North Condo zone on PRICELINE. If you would like help with confirming a HOTWIRE listing, please provide the details of each listing in question (star, zone, amenity icons showing - you may need to click "see details" and then click "see all amenities" on the details page to see the entire list.)You can split your stay between properties if that's acceptable - the 16th is less across the board than the 14th and 15th nights, which is why you may be seeing a different (again, please let us know the details of the listing you're seeing if you would like us to confirm) and cheaper listing for that night - and why $140 isn't being accepted when bidding for all 3 nights.Would you like to try splitting your stay? The first two nights are definitely going to require a higher bid, but the 16th is definitely cheaper.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
abucktwenty Posted September 13, 2011 Author Report Posted September 13, 2011 AaronJB thank you for your quick response. I like your idea of splitting the dates and booking maybe a 4 star for the first 2 nights and the 5 star on hotwire for the 16th.The 5 star north that is listed on the night of the 16th is:Bed choice, resort, suite, casino, fitness center, pool, restaurant, business center, high speed internet, golf, tennis, spa90% recommendedAny idea what hotel that might be? The rate is now $113 for the night of the 16th.The 4 star options for the nights 14th & 15th are:4 star north- casino, fitness center, pool, restaurant, business center, golf, spa80% recommended- the price for the 2 nights is $164/night4 star south- casino, smoke free rooms, fitness center, pool, restaurant, business center, high speed internet, golf, spa65% recommended- the price is $146Or do you think i am better off to slowly bid up on the 4 star hotels on PRICELINE? If i get to $140 and no luck just purchase on HOTWIRE?Thanks for your help- I will be sharing this website with lots of people and using it for all my future travels!
