AceMJM Posted September 12, 2011 Report Posted September 12, 2011 I know I'm bidding low, but wanted to see if I could get a super deal. Have received under $80/night in the area in the past (Hyatt, Palmer House), but these bids failed:Started with NMA-River North & Hyde Park: $55+ Millenium/Loop/Grant: $60+ Skokie-Niles-Evanston: $65+ Midway Airport Area (MDW): $70Will keep you updated if I score a deal!(and Go Blue!)
thereuare Posted September 12, 2011 Report Posted September 12, 2011 At the moment rates are somewhat high for these dates and i'm guessing it will take nearly double your current bids to land a 4* property. Thanks for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board. Will keep you updated if I score a deal!(and Go Blue!)It's nice to be able to see the words 'score' and 'Go Blue' near each other once again :) Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
AceMJM Posted September 12, 2011 Author Report Posted September 12, 2011 It's nice to be able to see the words 'score' and 'Go Blue' near each other once again :)Definitely!I added Midway North at $75 and it also got rejected. Will bid again when I'm ready to spend $120+.
AaronJB Posted September 12, 2011 Report Posted September 12, 2011 Rates on HOTWIRE - as a comparison - are definitely on the high side. If you're driving, there are cheaper suburban options (I'm guessing you're looking at $50-60 for a 3.5*/4* in the North burbs), but it becomes then taking the train or driving in.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
AceMJM Posted November 21, 2014 Author Report Posted November 21, 2014 Did not end up reserving a hotel for this trip.
