mnixyx Posted September 12, 2011 Report Posted September 12, 2011 wondering if that's a peak season for Jersey city...
thereuare Posted September 12, 2011 Report Posted September 12, 2011 This zone gets busy for two reason... meetings/conferences for the finance companies in the area (it's often referred to as Wall Street West) and NYC overflow (from those seeking a cheaper alternative to higher NYC prices).Given that this is an expensive time of year in NYC, it is often an expensive time in Jersey City too, and there are times when 4* hotels in this area are just as expensive as NYC. I think the Tuesday nite is what is holding up this bid at the moment, and that you could likely win a hotel for levels you have already bid (or less) for 10/2-10/4. Is SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID an option, staying at a different hotel for the nite of 10/4? (although this last nite may still require a bid higher then you have already made)Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. mnixyx Posted September 21, 2011 Author Report Posted September 21, 2011 thereuare, thanks a lot for your advice!I split my bid and got $175 for Millenium Hilton in Downtown - SoHo - Financial District, NYC. A bit higher than I originally planned, and not very good review in tripadvisor... But considering the location, still acceptable I guess...
