milec Posted September 11, 2011 Report Posted September 11, 2011 Hi, I have tried several Priceline bids for Paris Oct 1 to 4th - 2011, 4 stars most areas up to $185 and all my bids have been rejected. Do you have any bidding strategies for 3 or 4 stars? We are looking for 2 rooms, good location, and good value. Thanks for your help!

milec Posted September 13, 2011 Author Report Posted September 13, 2011 Yes, I will have to bid for a 3*, I am looking for the best value for the money. For a 3 start how much should I bid maximum and what strategy? Thanks
thereuare Posted September 13, 2011 Report Posted September 13, 2011 Just a 'warning' if you're not familiar, but star ratings in Europe are a bit more 'generous' then they are here in the US/North America... a 3* in Paris may be closer to a 2.5* equivalent in the US.If you're expectations are set and you're comfortable with this star rating you can try as follows:Select 3* Eiffel...Bid $110, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 3* Champs...Bid $110, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 3* St Germain...Bid $110, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 3* OQE...Bid $110, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 3* OQW...Bid $110, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 3* Eiffel and Champs and OQW...Bid $115, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 3* St Germain and OQEBid $115, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 3* St Germain and Champs and OQW...Bid $120, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 3* Eiffel and OQEBid $120, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 3* Eiffel and St Germain and OQW...Bid $125, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 3* Champs and OQEBid $125, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 3* Eiffel and St Germain and Champs and OQW...Bid $130, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 3* Eiffel and St Germain and Champs and OQE...Bid $130, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 3* OQE and OQW and Eiffel and St Germain...Bid $135, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 3* OQE and OQW and Eiffel and Champs...Bid $135, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 3* OQE and OQW and Eiffel and St Germain and Champs...Bid $140I'd start with the above, if rejected, post back and we'll revise to try again in 24 hours. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes. ElPal Posted September 16, 2011 Report Posted September 16, 2011 By the way, it is Paris Fashion Week that week which would mean that a lot of hotels would be more heavily booked with people flying in for it which may explain any difficulties.
