Looking at keeping budget low.

What is your maximum bid per nite and minimum star rating? Are you willing to pay more for a higher rated hotel OR is your goal the least expensive hotel at your minimum star rating?

Thanks for your reply. What is the minimum bid for a 3* hotel? And for a 2* hotel? I am ok with really small rooms, my main concern is should be clean without bed bugs. So is the minimum clean hotel is a 2* or can I go lower? I'm hoping for a budget of < $100. Thanks.

The issue is that as you get further outside of the city center the T stations become more spead out, and given you don't know the exact location of your hotel before purchase, there is no way to know just how far from the train you will be (unless the zone is so small geographically that all points in the zone are near a train station)

In theory all hotels should be clean and without bed bugs, but what one person defines as clean and perfectly acceptable may not meet the standards of somebody else. Personally i would try for 3* or higher hotels, or if necessary 2.5*, but i prefer to not bid 2* and under as the risk of disappointment increases, imo. As well, in most cities, the lower the star rating the more likelihood that you end up on the 'outskirts' of the zone and less convenient then the higher rated hotels in the zone... it's harder for a budget property to afford real estate costs of a prime location vs. a higher end hotel.
I'm hoping for a budget of < $100.
May be a bit tough, but let us know what you decide regarding star level and we'll take it from there.

Thanks for your patience and explanation. I'm bit lost as it's first time I'm trying to organize a trip to U.S. :-)

I've got I think a great deal in Hotwire. Spotted a Super Savings for 26 Sep $117 3* Hotel BOSTON COMMON - THEATRE DISTRICT and I got the Raddison!

Amenities are Smoke Free Rooms, Fitness Center, Restaurant(s), Business Center, High-Speed Internet Access, Tennis Nearby.

Now got to look out for another deal for the 27 Sep.
