Jeffo405 Posted September 9, 2011 Report Posted September 9, 2011 We are looking for a hotel September 16-19. Hotwire currently lists a 4-star Midtown East property with these amenities:Fitness CenterRestaurant(s)Business CenterHigh-Speed Internet AccessSpa ServicesSounds like it could be the W, but hard to believe it would be available for $169.Other possibilities? Thanks - will book through BB once decision is made.
AaronJB Posted September 9, 2011 Report Posted September 9, 2011 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)The W has been previously seen with this amenity set, and that would be my guess in this case.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
Jeffo405 Posted September 9, 2011 Author Report Posted September 9, 2011 Thanks, Aaron. I've only used HOTWIRE, never PRICELINE. Is it worth it to try to get this for less on PRICELINE?
AaronJB Posted September 10, 2011 Report Posted September 10, 2011 HOTWIRE is more expensive than PRICELINE, but PRICELINE is more opaque; if you bid for a 4* in MTE on PRICELINE, you have to be willing to accept any 4* in MTE (you may not get the W). On HOTWIRE, one can make an educated guess as to which hotels are showing. If you are okay with any 4* in the MTE area, you could try bidding for a 4* starting at $135 and working higher by $5's; hopefully you would be able to get a win in the $140-155 neighborhood. Additionally, do keep in mind that if you do wait and/or try PRICELINE, the HOTWIRE listing could go up in price or go away entirely.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
