zlah31 Posted September 8, 2011 Report Posted September 8, 2011 I won the Hyatt Regency in the Millennium Park area of Chicago for $92 plus taxes a night. From what I have seen this is a good deal(at least I hope so).I started bidding yesterday with several different options and went up to about $105 but never got what I wanted. I decided to try again today. My dates were flexible for how many days I wanted to stay. We were going to leave Thursday night or Friday afternoon so changing the dates was an easy way to get more bids in. Bid $80 4* North Michigan Avenue 9/20-9/22Bid $83 4 * North MIchigan Avenue 9/20-9/23Bid $86 3*+ North Michigan Avenue 9/20-9/22Bid $89 3*+ NMA and Millenium Park 9/20-9/22Bid $92 3* NMA and MIllenium Park 9/20-9/23 and receive 4* Hyatt Regency for those dates. This is our first time to Chicago so we are very pleased with our deal. We have stayed in a Hyatt in Atlanta and it was very nice. Thanks better bidding for helping me understand how to maximize my bids!If anybody has any Chicago must see/do feel free to share!
AaronJB Posted September 8, 2011 Report Posted September 8, 2011 Congrats on your success and Welcome to Betterbidding. :)Very nice deal for this centrally located property, especially during the busier Fall season. zlah31 Posted September 8, 2011 Author Report Posted September 8, 2011 Any suggestions for what to do would be helpfu! We are going to a Cubs game(huge fan and never been). We had thought about buying the Go chicago or another discount cards. We would like to visit a museum or two but not sure which ones are must see and how much time they would take since our trip is so short. JUst wanting to get the most of Chicago in a few days!please use the site's PRICELINE or HOTWIRE links to start your purchases and searches.
AaronJB Posted September 9, 2011 Report Posted September 9, 2011 A few odds/ends:1. Do take the Red Line subway North to the game; Wrigley is a block or two away from the Addison "L" stop. I'd go early - get ahead of the crowds and there's a ton of restaurants/bars nearby. Nice area to wait for a game.2. The Lincoln Park Zoo is very nice and free, and can be combined with shopping and restaurants in the nearby Lincoln Park and Old Town areas, and the latter has Second City theater.3. Art Institute is a must and an easy walk from your hotel.4. Shedd Aquarium and Field Museum are worthwhile (and next to each other), but I'd skip the Adler.5. I'd suggest the Wendella Boats or Chicago Architecture Tour boats, both of which leave from the Michigan Ave bridge right by your hotel. However, the Wendella has a coupon in this city coupon book online, for buy 1 ticket, get 1 Monday-Wednesday. There are tons of other coupons at the link below. If you do go for the GoCard Chicago, please use this link: Gocard In terms of these cards, I'd look at the sites that the card offers, how many you are interested in and how much admission would otherwise be vs card cost.http://www.explorechicago.org/city/en/supp..._Discounts.html
