PierreC Posted September 8, 2011 Report Posted September 8, 2011 Its been pretty tough to bid for a room in Paris. Ive been trying for a week now, my stay will be Marseille France october 17-20 2011 abnd Paris october 20th-25 2011.So far been going as high as 140 for a 4 stars but always denied. Ive been also trying a 3 stars. Now my bid is about 120 and today for the first time i got a counter-offer of...150 dollars !I turned it down. 150 for a 3 stars is, for the moment, too much for me.I still have some times to work on my bid....i hope.

PierreC Posted September 8, 2011 Author Report Posted September 8, 2011 its for the Paris 20-25 october. a 3 stars in Paris for 150 is too much i believe. I wonder if by waiting a few more days would help my bidding.
thereuare Posted September 8, 2011 Report Posted September 8, 2011 OK, i guess we'll use this thread for your Paris stay and you can start a NEW TOPIC for your Marseille stay. Not sure if $120 is your top bid for a 3* property, but the counter-offer suggests the 'right' number is somewhere between $121 and $150 (no way to know if it will take just $1 more or the whole $30 requested), so if there is a number between these two amounts you'd be happy with a 3* then you might want to use that as your maximum bid. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Keep us updated as to your progress and let us know if we can be of further help along the way. Neph Posted September 16, 2011 Report Posted September 16, 2011 I will be in Paris for the same dates you listed. I went up to $150 for a 4* but could not get anything. I ended up deciding to stay in London until the morning of the 21st. Doing that I was able to get a 4* for $111 through HOTWIRE.com I think the problem is Thursday 10/20, seems like rates were very high for that day.
