wunfunbny Posted June 2, 2005 Report Posted June 2, 2005 3.5* in Midtown Central - Amenities include Restaurant, Fitness Center and Business CenterListed at $159 a night for 7/28 - 8/2. First time to NYC - also wondering about if the neighborhood is a good one to stay? Thx!
thereuare Posted June 2, 2005 Report Posted June 2, 2005 Welcome to BetterBidding! This looks to be a match for the Hudson Hotel.Personally i think you'll likely find better deals than this for the summer in NYC, but as far as the neighborhood being a "good" one, what is it you are looking for?Are you asking if it safe, centrally located, etc? wunfunbny Posted June 6, 2005 Author Report Posted June 6, 2005 This is my first time to New York, so centrally located, safe, and clean are probably my top preferences. Other things I'd like to see... air conditioning, elevator that works, running water, no rodents or pests. Not too much to ask I hope :)
thereuare Posted June 6, 2005 Report Posted June 6, 2005 I'd recommend a priceline strategy to try if you're willing to go with that service. If so, do you know and understand the concept of RE-BIDDING?If not please read the above the link and ask any questions that you may have... you have two re-bid zones available at the 4* level, feel free to try to figure them out and/or confirm them with the board. We'll then suggest a strategy to follow. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
wunfunbny Posted June 8, 2005 Author Report Posted June 8, 2005 Just won the Waldorf for $150/nt 7/30/2005 - 8/2/2005First bid was for $140 in MTE, MTW, MTS. It was rejected, but it indicated I should try again and increase my bid by $22. Didn't want to go that high just yet. Instead, I increased the bid to $150 and added Upper Midtown and ended up with the Waldorf. I can't complain!
thereuare Posted June 8, 2005 Report Posted June 8, 2005 Congratulations on your win. Nice job rejecting the counter-offer.Thank you for success and bidding history with the rest of the board.Enjoy your stay in NYC.
