timpfleming Posted September 7, 2011 Report Posted September 7, 2011 There are bids accepted for as low as $45 (Hyatt Newport Beach) and as high as $100 (Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach) ... Is there a bidding strategy for Newport - Huntington that bypasses the Hyatt Newport Beach?
AaronJB Posted September 7, 2011 Report Posted September 7, 2011 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)There is no way to ensure a particular property when bidding - one has to be willing to accept any of the properties at the star rating (or above, if there is a rating above) in the zone bid. HOTWIRE may be a better choice, as you can make an educated guess as to which hotels are showing. What are your date/s of travel, and would you be willing to accept the Hyatt Newport or are you looking to avoid it entirely?Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
timpfleming Posted September 8, 2011 Author Report Posted September 8, 2011 Thanks for the welcome.I understand that you don't get to pick the hotel ... I was just surprised that the $80+ bids were not accepted by Hyatt Newport Beach (which seems to accept all the $40 to $60+ bids) ... but there are several posting of $80+ that get accepted by the Hyatt Regency Huntington (which is a resort spa) ... the posted rate difference between the two hotels is about $115I would be happy to pay $80 for the resort/spa but seems to high given the posting for the Newport Beach property ...If that makes sense? Thanks for the help
