SabrinaMichele Posted September 7, 2011 Report Posted September 7, 2011 Very excited to share my latest success via the BetterBidding/Priceline system! Started off by trying to actually get a 4* hotel in the San Mateo/S.F. Burlingame area at $60 with no success. Then after looking at the bidding boards I came across a successful bid in the Redwood City-San Carlos area with a win at the Sofitel San Francisco Bay. I've actually stayed here before and LOVED it! Unfortunately, unless you book at least 2 weeks in advance the best rate is $140 + taxes. I called the hotel to see if they would negotiate, but even then the best rate he would give me was $125 + taxes. I decided to try my luck and tried on Priceline yesterday starting the bid at $75. It declined asking for a rebid of $94. I decided to add in the Mountain View area (as the previous bidder had done) and upped the bid to $80 for the night. It declined my new bid. I decided to wait 24 hours and try again. I tried again using the BetterBidding PRICELINE link and immediately won my night for $82! With taxes and fees that comes to only $100.54 for the night! $50 saved using BetterBidding and Priceline! LOVE it! :) Oh and FREE Parking! Best deal ever! :)
SabrinaMichele Posted September 7, 2011 Author Report Posted September 7, 2011 P.S. In case anyone else is wondering, Priceline 'did' extend an offer to extend my stay for the exact same rate per night! Just in case anyone was wondering as I know they don't always extend this offer. :)
