pcpark87 Posted September 6, 2011 Report Posted September 6, 2011 I would like help on scoring a deal on 4* hotel around Parsons New School area (probably Soho). I looked up Hotwire and saw 178/night for four star hotel in Soho and it gave amenities:Fitness Center, Pool, restaurant, Business Center, and Hi-Speed Internet. Can you identify what hotel this is and if this is a good deal? Any chance of getting better hotel/deal with Priceline? Thank you!
thereuare Posted September 7, 2011 Report Posted September 7, 2011 Welcome to BetterBidding! Please start by reading your messages. The property above is a match for the Millenium Hilton so that would be my best guess for this one.PRICELINE is usually a little cheaper then HOTWIRE, but you then have to accept any hotel in the zone at the star rating (or higher) that you choose without the ability to take a guess and/or know the amenities offered by the hotel before your purchase. So that's typically the trade-off.Let us know how you'd like to proceed, and if PRICELINE, which zones, desired star rating, and maximum bid, and we'll advise accordingly. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. pcpark87 Posted September 7, 2011 Author Report Posted September 7, 2011 I do not mind going with Priceline. It will be for just one adult for your reference. And I'm going to change days to Sept 29 - Oct 2nd instead of Sept 30th.Acceptable Zone (in order of preference):SohoChelseaEmpire State Building AreaMSG4 star rating and higherMaximum bid will be $180, since Hotwire is offering $178 for a pretty good hotel. I want to score a deal on Hilton Fashion District or W Downtown but we will see about that...
pcpark87 Posted September 7, 2011 Author Report Posted September 7, 2011 Let me revise the preferred zones in order of preference: I would like to be close to Parsons University/Koreatown/SVA if possible. 4*+ only (Hilton Fashion District, W Downtown, Andaz)ChelseaSohoEmpire State Building AreaMTE (only if have to)Times Square (only if have to)MTW (only if have to)
thereuare Posted September 7, 2011 Report Posted September 7, 2011 Let me revise the preferred zones in order of preference...Are you willing to pay more for your first choice of zone vs. the second, more for your second choice vs. third, etc, etc... OR is your goal the least expensive 4* hotel in any of your acceptable zones (or the least expensive in any of your top 3 choice of zones)Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. pcpark87 Posted September 7, 2011 Author Report Posted September 7, 2011 I would be willing to pay more for the first but least expensive in the other two of the top 3, if that makes sense. Chelsea > Soho = ESBBut not above what I stated as maximum which was $180.Sorry for keep revising but my dates are back to 9/30 - 10/2.
thereuare Posted September 8, 2011 Report Posted September 8, 2011 So do you want to bid up to $180 for Chelsea, then if that is rejected, try up to $180 for Chelsea, Downtown and ESB?Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... and please click this PRICELINE link before replying.Thanks.
