bookhound Posted September 6, 2011 Report Posted September 6, 2011 Any idea what's going on? I've been bidding for up to 2 weeks now, bidding up to 103.00, but no luck so far. The Hyatt is on LMT for 123.00, so would have expected to get it on PL for less.
thereuare Posted September 7, 2011 Report Posted September 7, 2011 LMT is not a good price comparison to determine a realistic bid since they too are opaque and act as a wholesale basis (vs. agency basis). Hotel direct rates for this nite start at $239 so your PRICELINE bids are still well under half price of prevailing rates. Is the LMT offer listed as 'available' or 'on request'?Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. bookhound Posted September 7, 2011 Author Report Posted September 7, 2011 Yes, it's available. The Hilton, including breakfast for 107.00 is still on request, but my request was denied. I usually look at Hotwire and then bid quite a bit lower, frequently with success.
bookhound Posted September 7, 2011 Author Report Posted September 7, 2011 Ended up buying the Hyatt Regency Burlingame for 123.00 on LMT.
