nancyd Posted September 5, 2011 Report Posted September 5, 2011 I'm new to priceline and hotwire. I'm trying to book a hotel in New York, preferrably Times Square, midtown east or midtown west checking in Oct 1 and checking out Oct 5. I have submitted numerous bids....the highest being $216 but to no avail. Are my bids totally out of the park? Should I keep going higher. Not sure what to do...need advice please.
AaronJB Posted September 5, 2011 Report Posted September 5, 2011 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)NYC from September through around mid-December is unfortunately expensive/very expensive. What bids have you done so far (in terms of star rating/zones/rates?)Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
nancyd Posted September 5, 2011 Author Report Posted September 5, 2011 Hi, thanks for getting back to me. All of my bids have been for four stars. The first was $120 for Times Square, then $160 and $190 for the same I then changed the zone to include Midtown east and Midtown west and bid $170. I have also bid $211 for the same. I added Madison Sq Garden MTE, MTW and bid $216 and finally MTE and MTW for $219 ( my latest bid).
AaronJB Posted September 5, 2011 Report Posted September 5, 2011 Unfortunately, based upon the rates I'm seeing, a 4* in MTE/MTW/TS, I think you're likely looking at $235-270, and possibly a bit higher.Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll advise accordingly.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
