dduncan6er
I'm looking to book a room for 9/16-9/18 in the Stamford area. I have been bidding and would like it if someone could give me re-bidding advice. My 1st bid was $35, and it was rejected. My next bid of $40 was rejected, and then I added the Norwalk zone for $45 and it was also rejected. What are some other rebidding options I could try. I would like to stay at one of the 3.5* hotels near the train station in Stamford. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Link to comment
dduncan6er
I rebid for $50 today and I was denied again. I noticed others got rooms for $40 in the area, so my question is should I wait until the dates are closer and bid again, or should I just keep upping my bid? Link to comment
AaronJB
I think you're likely close, and would suggest proceeding slowly up a bit more - $57, $60, $63; my guess is that you're not far from a win.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches. dduncan6er
Went up to $53 and rejected again. Should I wait til closer to the date to bid again? I want to get the lowest possible rate and I don't mind waiting til closer to the date to book. Hotwire has hotels listed in the area for between $60 and $70 I could always fall back on. thereuare
Nobody can say if rates will come down... or move higher, between now and your stay. See the related 'Bid Early or Close to Check-in' link in our PRICELINE FAQ for a further discussion of this subject.I'll also add that using HOTWIRE as a back-up is not recommended, as current offers can disappear or rates can move higher at any time. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Keep us updated on your progress and let us know if we can be of further help along the way. dduncan6er
I rebid for $55 and was rejected, then I rebid again for $60 and received the Stamford Sheraton. And I'm not entirely sure but I believe this is the old Holidy Inn Select Stamford. On your Hotwire list it is still listed as the Holidy Inn Select. Link to comment
