Priceline Hotel: 5*, Las Vegas Strip South

I am looking to score a room at Vdara and use the $20 trick to get a better room. I already called and their Vdara Suite (1 up from basic) is booked. Which means I am trying to get into a Corner Suite (2 up).

I haven't bid on a hotel before and I have a wife and kids so the Vdara is the place to be!

Should I re-post this on the hotwire thread as well for help on that site (they don't have 5* listings for my night)?

There is no way to ensure a particular property when bidding via PRICELINE; if you bid for a 5* in the South Strip, you have to be willing to accept any of the 5* possibilities in the zone.

Additionally, HOTWIRE and PRICELINE reservations are for regular rooms - upgrades can be requested with the hotel, but are not guaranteed and the hotel can say no.

If you are a party of four, I'd suggest using HOTWIRE and indicating 2 adults and 2 children; PRICELINE only guarantees 1 bed/double occupancy.

Thanks for the reply. The tip about actually putting in the kids is huge because since they are both under 2 I never do! For this quick getaway I just went with Hotels.com for a confirmed hotel which was important with wife and kids. If it was a longer, more flexible trip I would have been on hotwire or priceline, using the links from this forum obviously! Thanks!
