dodo77 Posted September 3, 2011 Report Posted September 3, 2011 Hi.. I need to book a room for 2 at Niagara Falls from 21 to 24 Sept 2011. I see a 4* hotel Niagara Falls, Ontario area hotel (2.2 - 4.5 mi from city center) but only 75% recommended. Any idea what hotel is this? What is the least price I can bid to get a nice hotel facing the falls? Do I bid specifying the entire dates of my stay.Appreciate any advice on this :)
dodo77 Posted September 3, 2011 Author Report Posted September 3, 2011 There is also a 3* hotel Niagara Falls, Ontario - West area hotel (0.0 - 2.0 mi from city center) 80% recommended on Hotwire. Any idea which is this? Is that area convenient if I do not drive? Thanks.
thereuare Posted September 4, 2011 Report Posted September 4, 2011 What are the amenities that HOTWIRE lists with each of these properties? Also, note that there is no bidding with HOTWIRE, you either do/don't purchase as the price and description offered. If you're looking to bid, PRICELINE is the services which allows bidding. See this I've Never Used Priceline or Hotwire thread for more info.Is it PRICELINE or HOTWIRE you are looking to use for this stay? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... and your searches too! dodo77 Posted September 4, 2011 Author Report Posted September 4, 2011 Thanks for your response. The 75% recommendation has changed to 90% for $89, not sure if it is the same one, it has Fitness Center, Pool, Restaurant, biz ctr, internet. Any idea which this is?Can I get a better deal bidding on Priceline? What would be the bidding price for 4* in the Fall? There is another 4* on weekend with SPA, smoke-free, restaurant, internet. Any idea what this is?

dodo77 Posted September 8, 2011 Author Report Posted September 8, 2011 I took a chance and purchsed the Hotwire $90 4* 90% Recommended Hotel for 21 - 23 Sep and it turns out to be Doubletree Fallsview Resort & Spa. It has good reviews for the hotel so I'm glad. However, for the booking, I only saved $12 for the 2 nights compared to booking a low floor room on Doubletree website. Hopefully I'll get a higher floor room when I check in :-)
thereuare Posted September 8, 2011 Report Posted September 8, 2011 Congratulations on your success! While not as much savings as you had hoped, glad to see you're pleased with the hotel received.Thank you for sharing your win with the board. Can you please add a reply to this thread with the amenities shown before your purchase... you can still view this information by going to HOTWIRE and clicking the MY ACCOUNT link near the top right of their home page. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Enjoy your stay. dodo77 Posted September 9, 2011 Author Report Posted September 9, 2011 It is Fitness Center, Pool, Restaurant, Business Center, High-speed Internet Access.(Not the 75% Recommended but the 90% Recommended one, not the one with SPA, nor the one with Resort). Hope this is useful.
