Welcome to Betterbidding. :)

4* Loop - this would be a possible match for the Allegro.

4* Mag Mile - I'm seeing a different listing when searching - if you are still seeing the listing above, how many people are you searching for?

4* NMA - The Allerton, Westin Michigan Ave and Affinia have been previously seen with this amenity set.

Thanks for the input on the other 2 listings. I am searching for 1 person.

The boutique 4* Mag Mile property that is showing when searching for 1 adult only is a possible match for the Palomar, Sax or Felix, but I would lean towards it being the Felix.

Which one of these would you recommend for a long stay on business? I like the idea of the free wifi (with Kimpton membership) and the easy access to the El and proximity to my offices for the Allegro, but I don't like the idea of it being in a dead and quiet area at night - I would like to be ideally in a more lively area with restaurants like River North. I also don't like some of the reviews on TripAdvisor about the small rooms and dated fittings.

The Affinia sounds like a great hotel, but a little further away from my offices. Any idea on what the Hi-Speed internet access there is like? If the NMA hotel turns out to be the Westin (poor service reviews on TripAdvisor) or the Allerton (small rooms, thin walls) then I am not sure I would be so happy. The Felix also seems to have smaller rooms, so not sure about this.

Any recommendations?

The location is the furthest North in the NMA-River North area, but the Public Hotel Chicago is $215 regular rate on Orbitz and coupon code ORBITZ5 takes 5% off = $204.25 per night. This property does not open until 9/12; it was previously the legendary/historic Ambassador East, but was recently renovated (and if the pictures are any indication, pretty massively - the room pictures look entirely different) by famed hotel operator Ian Schraeger, who is credited as the creator of the "boutique" concept and is now taking it in a new direction with this property (which appears to possibly be the first of a chain.)

Article:

This property is in the Gold Coast area, which is a few minutes walk North of the North end of the NMA area. While it is not central, there is quite a bit of nightlife and restaurant options in the Gold Coast area.

Not really seeing anything else on HOTWIRE beyond the above for 9/21-27. The Public is the cheapest regular rate 4*, likely due to the fact that it's a new property and they are trying to get people in the door.

______

However, if you split the stay into two, 9/24-27 does have:

A 4.5* Mag Mile/Streeterville w/smoke-free, fitness, business, restaurant, internet, pool for $167; this would likely be the Intercontinental.

4* Mag Mile/Streeterville w/smoke-free, fitness, restaurant, business, internet $155. This could be a possible match for the Hyatt, Sheraton, Hard Rock or Westin River North. The high HOTWIRE review %'s on the detail page would make me think Westin RN or Hard Rock, but still be willing to expect any of the four mentioned as possibilities.

If either of these were of interest, they could be combined with the Orbitz Public deal for the first 3 nights (9/21-24), or Sutton Place (which is also in the Gold Coast neighborhood, although a few blocks closer to the NMA area than the Public Hotel) via Expedia for $221 for the first three nights. You'd have to move hotels, but a change of scene mid-stay may/may not be of interest. There's a Red Line station in the Gold Coast area and it's a very quick trip to the Loop.

If you were to stay in the Mag Mile/Streeterville area for the last half of the stay, you would be near the River North area for that portion of the stay (which does have a great deal of restaurants and nightlife) and the Sutton or Public for the first half of the stay would be in the Gold Coast (again, a lot of restaurants and nightlife.)
