Priceline Hotel: Beds in the 4* Hotels Downtown Area

Hi,

I want to place a bid on a 4* hotel in the Washington DC area but none of the room details mention what size bed you will get. I really don't want to be stuck with a double bed . I'm really looking for a Kind Size bed. Is there anyway to ensure that after I bid on a hotel, that they won't stick my husband and I in a room with double beds?

One of the trade-offs for the discounted rates with both discount services is that there is no way to guarantee bedding. One can *request* bedding with the hotel after the reservation has been made, but the hotel can say no or possibly charge more if that bedding is considered an "upgrade" - and the reservation is not refundable or changeable.

Not what I wanted to hear..lol...but that is good to know.

I've been calling around to the hotels directly in that area and asking about the availibility for the days I am interested and many of them are trying to pawn off the double beds even at the rate of $350 and up. :)

So frustrating!

What are your date/s of travel?

It becomes a case of 'trade-offs' in terms of the risk of not getting the bed you want vs. the savings. If you are not going to be in the hotel for much of the stay, then the risk may be worth considering, as well.

What zones would be acceptable, and what would be your desired budget per night? Are you seeing any listings of interest on HOTWIRE? Prices are still on the high side on HOTWIRE, but an improvement - a possible match for the Fairfax at Embassy Row for $243 and a possible match for the Omni Shoreham for $221, among others. Let us know if either of these are of interest, or if any other listings showing are of interest.
