thfc Posted September 1, 2011 Report Posted September 1, 2011 Hi I'm English and new to this concept.I'm visiting Chicago and would like to stay in the W (either lakeside or downtown) or similar hotel. Do the W suscribe to priceline or hotwire (hot deals rather than standard deals)? My dates are 23 - 26 October and I would prefer to stay somewhere lively, with a fitness centre ****+Cheers.
AaronJB Posted September 1, 2011 Report Posted September 1, 2011 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)One cannot guarantee a particular property via either of the discount services; PRICELINE and HOTWIRE are more about getting a hotel for a discount than a specific hotel for a discount. PRICELINE is generally less expensive, but at the same time, more opaque - if you bid on a 4* in a particular area (for example, River North-NMA in Chicago), then you have to be willing to accept ANY 4* in that area. On HOTWIRE, you can make an "educated guess" as to which hotels are showing, but there is only one hotel at each star rating in each zone for each set of dates and it definitely may not be the hotel you are looking for. That said, when searching for two people for these dates, I see:a 4* Mag Mile/Streeterville w/Boutique, Restaurant, Fitness, Smoke Free, Hi-Speed Internet, Business for $122; this is a possible match for the Felix, Sax or Palomar.a 4* NMA-Water Tower-GC for $102 w/Boutique, Restaurant, Fitness, Smoke Free, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Tennis, Spa. The Affinia has been previously seen with this amenity set, so that would be a possibility here.a 4* Loop w/Boutique, Restaurant, Hi-Speed Internet, Business for $164; this would match the amenity set previously seen with the Burnham. The prices you see may vary slightly.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
