kinsela Posted August 30, 2011 Report Posted August 30, 2011 I did a search from 11/23/11 - 11/27/11 both as 2 adults and 2 adults with 1 child. Our child is only 3 years old but when I did the search the same 4* all inclusive hotel that we were interested in came up with widely different prices. For 2 adults it was $140 but with the child it comes up as $196. Also listed was a 3* and 3 1/2* all inclusive. The price for 2 adults in the 3 1/2* was $109 with child it is $154. The 3* was $100 for 2 adults, and $101 with child. My question is can I book the 4* with 2 adults and not list my child and get the $140 rate and still show up with my child in tow? Most resorts offer kids stay and eat free so I can't imagine this would be an issue at check in.Also I believe the 3* to be the Royal DeCameron and the 3 1/2* to be Riu Jalisco and the 4* to be Riu Palace Pacifico. Can you help confirm if the 4* is that. Most resorts offer kids stay and eat free so I can't imagine this would be an issue at check in.I would include your child in the reservation as 'kids free' has not been my experience at all-inclusive resorts unless it is part of a special promotion (which typically involves a special rate and/or does not necessarily apply to deeply discounted bookings). If your child was under two years old i would be more inclined to exclude from the reservation since you would still be within HOTWIRE's booking parameters since they define 'child' and age 2-17. As well, to further add 'risk' to your theory that children would be free, there is a reason the price increased when adding a child... because clearly at this property a child is not free, otherwise the system would be set-up to not increase the price when a child is added (vs. if you were searching for 3 adults). Of course ultimately the decision as whether you book for double/triple occupancy is up to you. With the above noted i agree that the best guess for the 4* property above would be the Riu Palace Pacifico. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help.
