Momonga Posted August 30, 2011 Report Posted August 30, 2011 I have been trying to bid for a hotel in Downtown Toronto South for couple days now.Start with 90 failed then I increase my bid to 100 still no luckI increase my bid to 110 failSo I add 3.5* increase my max bid to 120 fail againAny suggestion? I don't want to pay more than 150.I don't even want to add the North area because I don't want to stay in the Sutton place. One of my friends has stayed there and she strongly advise me to stay away from it.Thanks in advance
thereuare Posted August 30, 2011 Report Posted August 30, 2011 Rates are extremely high for these nites as i believe the 18th is the last nite of the Toronto Film Festival... are you heading to the city for this event? What is the best rate you're able to find at an acceptable hotel for this stay? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Momonga Posted August 30, 2011 Author Report Posted August 30, 2011 Yeah I was thinking about that as a matter too.I am not heading for the film festival. I might change my date around a little bit, like staying around the Niagara Falls area then heading to Toronto on Monday. What do you think about the hotel in Don Valley area? We will be traveling by car from Michigan. We might ended up pay more for parking if we stay too far, right?Thank you for your help.
thereuare Posted August 31, 2011 Report Posted August 31, 2011 What do you think about the hotel in Don Valley area? For which date(s) and what are the amenities associated with this property? We might ended up pay more for parking if we stay too far, right? Not sure i understand the question... do you mean paying for parking downtown if you drive from Don Valley to Downtown? I'm not familiar with the specific ins/outs of this area, but if you stayed at a hotel downtown you would typically be paying for parking at the hotel you're staying in anyway... the days of free parking at any Downtown hotel while you're staying there as a guest are mostly over. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Momonga Posted August 31, 2011 Author Report Posted August 31, 2011 Not sure i understand the question... do you mean paying for parking downtown if you drive from Don Valley to Downtown?Yeah you got the question right. When I go to big city I usually park my car downtown and use public transportation or walk. So if I stay in Don Valley I have to take my car out of the lot then drive to downtown, park there and doing my sight seeing. I think the reason my bid got rejected is because the hotels might be fully booked for those days. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
thereuare Posted August 31, 2011 Report Posted August 31, 2011 Do the hotels in Don Valley generally charge for parking? If not, when you drive to the downtown and pay for parking, it would be the equivalent as if you were staying downtown and paying the hotel to park. As well, since you won't be parking overnite, nor necessarily at a hotel lot (which is generally more expensive then a private lot), your rate for parking in Don Valley (if any) plus half day parking at a private lot downtown may not be much more expensive then parking for a full day at a downtown hotel that you were staying at. It would certainly be less convenient, but in the big picture (no pun related to the film festival intended :) ) these dates are difficult enough that i think the difference in parking costs is fairly insignificant to the difficulty in finding a room downtown (vs. staying in Don Valley)Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
