KoreanVisitor Posted August 29, 2011 Report Posted August 29, 2011 I'm looking to book a last minute stay in Vegas for this Sat night (9/3/11).This is my first post, and I'm not completely familiar with the bidding process. Can someone please help me out? I'm hoping to stay in Venetian, Wynn, Cosmo, Encore, etc. Thanks in advance!
thereuare Posted August 30, 2011 Report Posted August 30, 2011 Welcome to BetterBidding! What is your maximum bid for this stay? Are you willing to bid both the Strip North and Strip South zones or is only one of these acceptable? Is the Trump of interest or is that too far off-strip?Let us know the above and we'll advise accordingly. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. KoreanVisitor Posted August 30, 2011 Author Report Posted August 30, 2011 Hi,I wish to bid a max of $170. Both South and North strips are fine. Do you know if the Trump hotel is also really nice? If it is, then Trump is also fine, but prefer to stay on the strip.I know this is pretty last minute planning. Is it typically advantageous for me to plan trips in advance with priceline, or closer to my vacation date?Thank you for your help!
thereuare Posted August 30, 2011 Report Posted August 30, 2011 The Trump is nice, but the off-strip location is a detraction, especially if this is your first trip to Vegas (not sure if it is or not). If you're looking for a Resort to stay in and relax, the Trump will suit your needs... if you're looking to explore and see Vegas, location on the Strip is a better option, imo.As far as when to bid, see the related 'Bid Early or Close to Check-in' link in our PRICELINE FAQ.Not sure if $170 will be enough for a 5* property, but to give it a try:At the 5* level you have ELEVEN re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 5* Strip South and Strip North...Bid $115, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $125, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $130, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $135, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $140, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $145, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $155, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $160, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $165, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $170Any questions feel free to ask. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes. KoreanVisitor Posted September 1, 2011 Author Report Posted September 1, 2011 Thanks for the help. I decided to postpone the trip because it's the Labor Day weekend. Prob going to be a nightmare going to and coming back from Vegas. Also probably going to be hard to get good rates at this point in time.I'll keep your advice in mind next time I bid for the rooms. Thanks!!
Muks Posted September 1, 2011 Report Posted September 1, 2011 I just got a winning priceline bid at the 5* Palazzo in the North Strip for 130 per night + taxes for the labor day weekend.
