starlight1384 Posted August 29, 2011 Report Posted August 29, 2011 Used the PRICELINE link and first bid at $60 for the highest category, 2.5* for San Marcos and did not win. Also added 2* and increased bid to $65 and won Travel Lodge San Marcos for a total of $157.36 for 2 nights. I was hoping for the Country Inn & Suites as it is listed as a 2.5 star, but this will have to do. The pictures seem ok enough anyway!
thereuare Posted August 30, 2011 Report Posted August 30, 2011 Sorry this wasn't the hotel you were hoping for, but hopefully you'll be able to make this work for your needs. If PRICELINE offers the ability to bid on a hotel at a given star rating in the zone, you should assume that they do actually have a hotel at that star level. With nearly a month before your stay i would have recommended bidding higher over a few days rather than lowering your star rating (if you didn't really want a 2* property), as it's typically not recommended lower lower your star rating and increase your bid at the same time, as you did above. See this thread for a further discussion on this subject: If You Lower Your Star Rating Then Lower Your Bid Price. Feel free to ask any questions you may have.Thank you for using the PRICELINE link on the board and for sharing your win, helping us add this property to the Priceline Hotel List.Enjoy your stay. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
