Miamimom Posted August 29, 2011 Report Posted August 29, 2011 I've never used Hotwire for hotels, but considering it w/the sticker shock I've got from the high season rates for Sept. 29-Oct. 2. Can't use Priceline as we need 2 beds for our family of 2 adults and 12 and 14 year olds. Only been to NYC once, and stayed at a Kimpton in midtown (in summer, with rock bottom rates). Location was ok, but thought we'd like to be a little more south, ie Tribeca (we are definitely not Times Square types). Trying to stay as far under $300 a night as possible, incl taxes, without entering fleabag territory.Any idea what these hotels are?:Chelsea/MSG 3.5 stars, $251 night, 85% recommendfitness, dining, business center, hi speedChelsea/MSG 3 stars, $247 night, 90% recommendfitness, dining, business, hi speedMidtown Central, 3 stars, $253/nightfitness, pool, dining/hi speedAny advice is appreciated!
AaronJB Posted August 29, 2011 Report Posted August 29, 2011 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)The 3* MTC is a possible match for the Holiday Inn Midtown; the 3.5* Chelsea-MSG is a possible match for the Ramada New Yorker or Doubletree. The 3* Chelsea is a possible match for the Hilton Garden Inn Chelsea or Holiday Inn 6th Ave.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
Miamimom Posted August 30, 2011 Author Report Posted August 30, 2011 Thanks so much - love this site! But, I managed to find a rock bottom rate at the World Center Hotel with a discount code I found. The rate is refundable just in case I can beat it, but I doubt that is possible for this trip. Not loving the location, but we can make it work for the price. Thanks again.

hasan islam Posted September 3, 2011 Report Posted September 3, 2011 Really I was very curious about Hotwire too, but since they have been around for quite awhile and have all those commercials on then it seems like it must be okay if it wasn't I am sure it would be long gone. You can select how many star hotel you want and what area you want to be in and of course the best part what price you want to pay. If you are going for one night then I would totally try it , it couldn't be that bad especially if you select 4 stars and if for some reason it is that bad well then you have one not great hotel in Philly for one day at a great price and know not to use Hotwire again. So you can select your choiceable hotel at your own requirement within your budget. Thanks
