Priceline Hotel: Help in Long Island City

Hello all, hope all is well!

I have been a long time lurker but this is my first post.

I will be attending a wedding in late September that is taking place in Long Island City at the Foundry. My wife is in the wedding so we will need a room starting Thursday, September 22 and we will be checking out on Sunday, September 25. We really want to be staying in Long Island City, because there is a ton of wedding stuff we will be at and dont want a big commute in.

How should I approach the bidding? Hotels go up to 3 stars in LIC and only Coney Island has a lower baseline. I am sure the solution is simple, but i need some help. Also, what should I start my bidding at?

Thanks so much for all you do!

Also,

Any tips on finding hotwire hotels? It looks like there is a bigger area cover in their Long Island City map.... Looks like one of their hotels would be HoJo and that would be fine but there are others that look pretty far out...

Welcome (officially) to BetterBidding!

As your wife is in the wedding party, is there a hotel suggested by the bride/groom and at a group rate? If so, where and how much? While your wife is attending to her wedding party duties, will you be tagging along or left to explore NYC?

What is your maximum budget per nite for this stay?

Let us know the above and we'll advise accordingly.

Sorry about the hold up in response....

There is a group rate at Z Hotel of $195 for a queen room.

I will be a part of the activity at some points but i will also have so exploring time...

i would love to stay around $150/night with taxes included... This may not be possible, but i dont really know yet...

Any ideas?

I would take the $195 rate at the Z Nyc...

This zone is somewhat large geographically in the sense that there is not a subway on every corner, so if you end up far from the venue it could be a hassle to get to/from each time. Given your wife is in the wedding party, when there are 'events' she must attend, if they are off-site, i'm sure there will be a few people leaving from the hotel at the same time, which will make getting/sharing cabs easy. As well, the hotel offers scheduled shuttle to midtown for when you're able to go off on your own and explore the city a bit (and the subway is an option as well)

This is a new hotel and i don't know too much about it yet, but given you're on a schedule regarding the wedding, for convenience i would take the wedding rate. If you decide staying elsewhere is best for your plans let us know and we'll assist in whatever you'd like to do, but the above are my thoughts on the subject.

Let us know what you decide or how we can assist further.
