jflinst Posted August 27, 2011 Report Posted August 27, 2011 Hi..After a lot of deliberation, we decided to jump on the Priceline bandwagon, for the last few days of our DC trip.I did some research and I'm ok with pretty much any hotel we get in the Arlington zone except for the 3.5* Sheraton National (seems like a hassle to get to the metro, we're not using a car). I will start bidding on the 4* properties, and if that doesn't work I want to bid 3* rather than 3.5*.I wanted to ask around to see if it's common for Priceline to give bidders a property with a higher star rating (3.5* if your bid is 3*) , as I really don't want to be stuck with the Sheraton National. Thanks for your help.
thereuare Posted August 27, 2011 Report Posted August 27, 2011 Welcome to BetterBidding! The star rating you select is the minimum that you are willing to accept and PRICELINE will always try to upgrade your bid to a higher star level if possible. If you're not willing to accept any hotel at the star rating or higher that you select, you may want to consider HOTWIRE if you're able to identify the hotel offered (or at least ensure it's not the hotel you're trying to avoid... ie- if the hotel you're trying to avoid doesn't have a Pool, you can 'safely' purchase any hotel that shows a Pool icon). Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll advise accordingly.
