Hurricane Irene...possibility for deals immediately after?

Think there will be hotel deals starting on tues or wed due to Irene? Or possibly would it be even higher because people who needed to be in NYC on sat/sun/mon will now be there?

Difficult to say since while there were likely many cancellations due to people not being able to get to the city... there were likely some people who needed to extend their stay (and 'replaced' those who couldn't make it)

However, searching now for rooms in the next week show some very good deals and rates which weren't otherwise readily available... not sure how they'll be adjusted depending upon whether the storm is better/worse then expected.
