tammyinky Posted June 7, 2005 Report Posted June 7, 2005 Hi all - We will be visiting Tampa 6/18 and wanted to know if anyone knew of any hotels with great rates in or around Tampa? I'm not looking for a 4 start hotel, just something nice enough for my family (kids) to stay in. Thanks in advance Tammy
ufjoe21 Posted June 7, 2005 Report Posted June 7, 2005 how many kids? what ages?any idea where in Tampa you'd like to stay....Busch Gardens or near the airport or downtown, etc?
tammyinky Posted June 7, 2005 Author Report Posted June 7, 2005 Hi and thanks for the reply. I have two girls, 11 and 13. I have no preference in where in Tampa to stay. I will be going to Busch Gardens as well as the Bucs stadium, etc. This will be our first trip to Tampa so neither of us know our way around...lol Also, I'd like to bring my minature puppy if I could. Any place that allows pets? Thanks,Tammy
thereuare Posted June 7, 2005 Report Posted June 7, 2005 No way to designate a 'pet friendly' hotel. You may want to try Hotwire where you may have a better chance at identifying and targeting the hotel beforehand (and you can also select more than double occupancy), but i my first piece of advice would be to do a bit more research on where in Tampa you'd like to stay... if you want your trip to be the best that it can be, i would invest a little time into learning about the area and what zones are closest to the activities you want to do. tammyinky Posted June 9, 2005 Author Report Posted June 9, 2005 Hi - Can anyone help in finding the Tampa Homestead Suites through Hotwire? Any clues? Thanks,Tam
thereuare Posted June 9, 2005 Report Posted June 9, 2005 The one in Brandon?Thru the HOMESTEAD website it is available for only $54/nite. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
tammyinky Posted June 15, 2005 Author Report Posted June 15, 2005 Amerisuites Tampa Sabal ParkHi all - Does anyone know if this hotel can be booked through Hotwire? If so, what amenities should I look for, etc. Thanks,Tam
ufjoe21 Posted June 15, 2005 Report Posted June 15, 2005 Tammy...........I've looked into this a bitI've been to Tampa quite a bit on vacationuse priceline.com!!!it seems like to me you're best bet would be bidding a 3* in the Tampa East zone (close to the area where the Amerisuites is)......the hotel that comes up in Tampa East for 3* is the Crowne Plaza, I've stayed there it's pretty nice, I'm sure you could get it for less than $70 a nightI'd start bidding at maybe $45....it's not the most popular hotel so you can usually get it cheap!this wouldn't be terribly far from the Busch Gardens area.....it would be near the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino you're basically going to be where I-4 meets I-75I saw you inquiring about Brandon....I'd suggest you wouldn't be happy there......you'd be kinda close to Tampa East, but you're not in Tampa, if you dont' know your way around it's not a good idea to be in a different city then where you want to vacation!if you don't like the idea of Tampa East you could certainly get Busch Gardens 3* for less than $70 again start at about $45 or $50however..........if you're still not sure what the heck you're going to do............one suggestion I have is Tampa Westhshore Airport Zone, it's near the waterfront area, where there's lots of places to eat, a mall or 2, and it's a short drive to Clearwater Beach, it's basically the nicest part of TampaBusch Gardens is nice but there's nothing special there besides that in my opinionI'm sure you could save more money with priceline.com than using hotwire.com and you'd be much happier with the VALUE you'd be getting for it, remember you're going to be there for about a week, so you want to save money but at the same time you don't want to stay somewhere so uncomfortable you end your trip early!so...........try 3* in Tampa East, Busch Gardens, Or Westshore zonemake sure you understand how to bid and rebids, etc. before you buy
tammyinky Posted June 15, 2005 Author Report Posted June 15, 2005 Hi and thanks so very much for taking the time to research this. Unfortunately that motel does not allow pets and I have a small dog (Looks more like a hampster :) ) that is traveling with the family. Amerisuites allows pets. Thanks again for your help,Tammy
ufjoe21 Posted June 25, 2005 Report Posted June 25, 2005 what "motel"....priceline is MOSTLY HOTELS which aren't the same as MOTELSactually if you use priceline you DON'T know what hotel you're staying in so you DON'T know if the hotel allows petshowever I'd suggest you use priceline and if you can save yourself a LOT of MONEY, maybe it's worth it to be at a place that won't allow petswhat's more important....saving money or bringing your dog?
ufjoe21 Posted June 25, 2005 Report Posted June 25, 2005 mmmmmmmmmmm looks liek the stay is over................so what did you end up doing finally?
