I can't even keep track of all the bids I made that failed starting yesterday. Had a friend that stays in the area often and said to try Lincoln Park.

Started again today.

Bid $90 for 2* in Lincoln Park - Rejected

Added Franklin Park at $95 - Rejected

Added Hyde Park at $100 - Rejected

Added Millennium Park, Loop at $105 - Rejected

Added Greater Chicago at $110 - Rejected

Finally accepted at $115 when adding North Michigan Avenue and got the 3* as an upgrade.

Many thanks to the tips on re-bidding which I am sure helped in this process!

Congrats on your success and Welcome to Betterbidding. :)

Very nice deal and free breakfast is always a good bonus. Can you confirm which of the two RI's in this zone you did get?

Thank you for sharing your win and please use the site's PRICELINE or HOTWIRE links to start your purchases and searches.

Enjoy your stay.

Thank you for the follow-up. I'll suggest that you request a room facing North on one of the top couple of floors - if successful, you may get a pretty nice (although partial) view of the lake.

Thanks Aaron.

Any insight as to how flexible they are with changing rooms? I am going to a conference nearby and there will be 3 of us (guys) sharing one room. One guy said he is willing to sleep on the floor, but if there is the possibility of switching to a 2BR suite, nobody would have sleep on the floor nor would we have to pay for a rollaway.

You are likely looking at a studio room at this property, which are fairly sizable (this was previously an apartment building), but only have one bed and sofabed. There is also a larger 1BR with 1bed/1sofabed, but the bedding is still 1/1. The 2BR room has two beds, but is $100 more expensive than the studio room. If 1 bed and 1 sofabed is fine, then you may want to just stick with the studio room. If two beds would be better, there are no guarantees - and it may depend on who you talk to - but I would call the hotel and try to negotiate. If they say no over the phone, try again at check-in.
