dkkam Posted August 24, 2011 Author Report Posted August 24, 2011 Just clicked on the HOTWIRE link a few times and did a few searches. thanks!dkkam
thereuare Posted August 25, 2011 Report Posted August 25, 2011 This does match previous reports for the Inter-Continental so that would be my best guess for this one.I'm not sure where you're comparing the 90% number to, but it's based upon feedback from HOTWIRE customers and is not published anywhere. If you're comparing the a previous win where the user posted the percentage, HOTWIRE does fluctuate this number and it can change from one search to the next, for the same hotel. Generally speaking, the percentage shown by HOTWIRE is not a reliable number to use to guess the identify of hotels. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help. dkkam Posted August 25, 2011 Author Report Posted August 25, 2011 When I do a package (hotel+car) search in hotwire.com, it gives the name of the hotel. By choosing Inter Continental, the hotel info page shows the "% of travelers recommend" and the satisfaction numbers. Both % and satisfaction numbers do not match exactly with the hot Rate page.I m now thinking if I will take this hotwire hotel or bid in priceline. Will update this thread once I do.Thanks, dkkam
thereuare Posted August 25, 2011 Report Posted August 25, 2011 HOTWIRE's vacation product is powered by Expedia, and figures there (percentage of travelers recommending and overall satisfaction numbers) are not the same as what appears on HOTWIRE's "opaque" listings.Of course if one site shows 30% recommended and the other 90% recommended, that would be cause for concern given the disconnect between what is shown and the property you think it is, but if within 15% or so i wouldn't consider that a difference to exclude a hotel from a possible identification, especially in light of my comments above that HOTWIRE will often fluctuate the percent recommended number from one search to the next. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
