Trying to bid on any of the 3 - 4 or 3.5 hotels in the aquarium zone. First bid of 150 on 4 star was denied, second bid on 3.5 or 4 for 155 also denied. Willing to go to 190 max. What to do for next bid?

To begin, it doesn't look like you're familiar with re-bidding, so give this thread a a read: Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and see if you can determine your FIVE re-bid zones which are available at both the 4* and 3.5* levels. If you read the previous thread and are confused just post back and we'll break it down further for you.

Then let us know if you're willing to pay more for a 4* vs. a 3.5* OR if your goal is the least expensive 3.5* or better in the zone; we'll then suggest a strategy for you to follow.

I read the posts in these treads and see how I made my mistakes. I am looking for the cheapest 3.5* or better and do see the other rebid zones without a 3.5 or 4*.

Using my 5 rebids up to 179 with no wins.

Is this the only zone which will work for your needs this trip? Would the Quincy Market and/or Copley zone work as i think you likely get a 4* hotel in these zones for close to what you have already bid.

If so, do you want to add these zones now or try for only the Aquarium zone first up to $190

OR

If not, is $190 still your maximum bid or are you able to push it a bit higher?

If I can't find a hotel in the aquarium zone I will have to expand my zones.My wife is unable to walk long distances and wants to do the market, aquarium and freedom trail. I can go to 210 but after looking on hotwire for those dates there is not anything close in this zone.

Expanded to Quincy Hall and won the hilton downtown for $175. Close enough to aquarium so that it should not be a problem. I don't know if I should have started lower but it was my first bid. Looks like a nice discount to me.

thereuare as I am new here a couple of after the fact questions

1. Do I post this on the calender or does it automatically post?

2. You may not know the answer to this but if I make a bid that is higher than more than one hotel's minimum for the stars selected how is the property selected?
