Thanks for BB. Really useful forum and information and I am so happy.... Why I did not know BB and priceline EARLIER!!

I bid at 60 for LAX 4*+ and got $60 at Hilton LAX.

I also bid $90 for downtown L.A 4*+. Westin Bonaventure 9/1/11 - 9/2/11. Bid 75-80-90 and got at 90.

Strategy is: look at BB post first and get a rough range.

When first bid failed, priceline does not allow second bid if no criteria change within 24 hours. What I did is first bid LAX or downtown, for example, and then select Beverlly Hills and then Hollywood, which area is way more expensive than downtown/LAX with same star level. I checked the price of Bervelly Hills and Hollywood at first. And then while bidding second and third time, most chances are priceline still will search around your first mentioned area.

Hope it helps.

Will go to another city and stay at my friends' home so I did not bill for Sep 2 and 3. Guess can get better price if bid from Sep 1 to Sep 4.

Congrats on your success and Welcome to Betterbidding. :)

Excellent deal for this LAX property, and glad you are pleased with the result.

It would be greatly appreciated if you could post the Westin win as a separate thread. Thanks.

Additionally, adding zones which you 'know' are more expensive can be risky as some users unexpectedly receive a hotel in the 'higher priced' zone. Please see this thread for a detailed discussion on re-bidding which is a better method to use: Priceline re-bidding.

Thank you for sharing your win and using the site's PRICELINE or HOTWIRE links to start your purchases and searches.

Enjoy your stay.
