nomadnl Posted August 18, 2011 Report Posted August 18, 2011 Hi - a group is traveling to LV Oct 12 -17 looking for a minimum 3.5 star on the strip. Where to start my bid and what priceline hotels are 3 star on the strip? thanks. Budget is $100 per night max. Would like to be close to center as senior citizen along.
thereuare Posted August 19, 2011 Report Posted August 19, 2011 Welcome to BetterBidding!...minimum 3.5 star on the strip. So is something ilke the Westin, which is in PRICELINE's Strip South zone, but slightly off-strip, not acceptable?what priceline hotels are 3 star on the strip?Above you mention 3.5* but here you mention 3*... please confirm your minimum star rating.Let us know the above and we'll take it from there. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. nomadnl Posted August 19, 2011 Author Report Posted August 19, 2011 sorry about that I meant 3.5* not 3. thanks. I will use your link to place my bids once I have my plan in place. thanks again
thereuare Posted August 19, 2011 Report Posted August 19, 2011 Once your plans are firm also let us know about 'slightly off-strip options' such as the Westin and we'll advise accordingly. Thanks in advance for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board. nomadnl Posted August 19, 2011 Author Report Posted August 19, 2011 Thanks again. Plans are firm we want to stay on the strip as we have an older person along and can't have too much walking so off strip is not an option for us. I would like to target 3.5 because I figure we would get a rate for less than $100/night. If I could get a 4* at that same rate I would be happy. Hotels we would be happy with include Flamingo, Ballys, or Paris.
thereuare Posted August 20, 2011 Report Posted August 20, 2011 The problem you're going to have is that the Westin, which is located slightly off-strip, is in PRICELINE's Strip South zone, so if this is not an acceptable outcome, then you're restricted to only bidding the Strip North zone. The Strip North zone does goes pretty far north (ie- Stratosphere, Circus Circus, etc) but i would think that if you stick with 4* and above you'd be 'safe' as i can't think of any hotels in that part of the zone which would be 4* rated... but i also think that a 4* hotel in the Strip North zone will likely be out of your budget.I am seeing on HOTWIRE what i'm guessing to be the Monte Carlo priced at $111/nite, and if the Westin is not acceptable, this may be your closest option as far as i can tell.Let us know your thoughts and how you'd like to proceed and we'll take it from there. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
