hotel_on_the_cheap Posted August 22, 2011 Report Posted August 22, 2011 Going to be in NYC for Sept 21 - 24. Willing to stay in Brooklyn, and Manhattan (of course) and I would prefer 3* or higher. Would love to get 150 or less but there's some wiggle room. Any suggestions for strategy? Is this realistic? Thanks!
thereuare Posted August 23, 2011 Report Posted August 23, 2011 I doubt anything within Manhattan is going to be within your budget, but which Manhattan zones would be acceptable (as we can use them as pseudo-rebid zones in order to get more bids for Brooklyn... worst case scenario is you get an unexpected surprise in Manhattan).I haven't checked rates, but have also you considered Hoboken, NJ which at the 4* level provides good access to Manhattan? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. hotel_on_the_cheap Posted August 23, 2011 Author Report Posted August 23, 2011 Ya I was doing some experimenting last night and I didn't get any takers at even 195 and 3*. How much further would I need to go to get some bites?I'll definitely look into NJ. Good suggestion!
thereuare Posted August 24, 2011 Report Posted August 24, 2011 Based upon current prices, within Manhattan for a 3* you're probably looking at very high $200's... a 4* in Hoboken will likely run ~$150-$165.Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll advise accordingly.
