rexasaurus Posted August 22, 2011 Report Posted August 22, 2011 I placed a bid for a 5* hotel north strip Las Vegas for $150nt. I carefully reviewed the contract page and the total after taxes for two nights was $356.43. I was charged for $180nt, contacted priceline and they refused to do anything about it. Anyone else have the same experience? Only physical proof to support myself I have is the email they specifically sent me to retry my bid of $150 because it did not work the first time. I've tried re-browsing though my history, but no dice.I felt even more ripped of when the "customer care" representative said that a bid of $150 would have worked.Any suggestions?
AaronJB Posted August 22, 2011 Report Posted August 22, 2011 Welcome to Betterbidding.Sorry to hear about the issue. :)Please provide the name of the hotel you won and the date/s of travel and we would be happy to offer our thoughts.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
rexasaurus Posted August 23, 2011 Author Report Posted August 23, 2011 I "won" $180/nt at the Wynn. My travel dates are 11/3/11 - 11/5/11. I just kinda screwed because what happened.Any thoughts or suggestions would help.
thereuare Posted August 24, 2011 Report Posted August 24, 2011 I'm saying that this was what happened since you 'carefully reviewed' the page before submitting, but with the 8 being on top of the 5 on a keypad, i think it's possible that you mistyped the bid amount... everything is transmitted electronically so there is no play in the process for anybody to change anything. As well, to hopefully make you feel better, i don't believe the customer service reps have any information regarding what bid amounts would be successful for any given date. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Enjoy your stay. Steven Seagal Posted August 24, 2011 Report Posted August 24, 2011 Actually at 150/nt 356.43 sounds right, with Taxes and Fees, no?
thereuare Posted August 24, 2011 Report Posted August 24, 2011 That was the total on the review page where the OP says it was a $150 bid... i suspect the actual total (from the $180 acceptance) was higher.
