Traida Posted August 22, 2011 Report Posted August 22, 2011 Did I necessarily want the Trump this weekend when I started bidding? Not really. I thought I would toss in some information for those looking to bid the weekend of 9/23/11 - 9/26/11 (apparently very expensive this weekend compared to surrounding weekends FYI).I had been bidding multiple star ratings in multiple locations for about a week before getting restless and trying for the Trump.5-star north strip bids REJECTED: $105~$170/NIGHT5-star south strip bids REJECTED: $105~$160/NIGHT4-star north strip bids REJECTED: $90~$140/NIGHTI hope this information helps those of you who are looking to visit the weekend of 9/23~9/26....good luck bidding!I was planning for the Venetian but multiple reports indicated 5* north strip (Venetian, Palazzo, Wynn) were still coming up short at $220 bids. Since I have stayed in each of those resorts in the past, the lure of an extra $230 to put on the tables or a nice dinner vs. the hotel room was appealing enough to sample the Trump. As the only "5-star condo" in the north-strip area I knew exactly what I was going after. Hotwire's rate was $168/night ($578 total) and I was able to get $156/night on priceline ($540 total). There is still the $20/day resort charge to be added onto this as well using either Hotwire or Priceline (published website price is $717 + 60 resort fee for comparison). For those looking to hit up Vegas this weekend please note that it is EXTREMELY expensive in relation to other weekends in the following few weeks. Some posts have indicated multiple "conferences" in town 9/23-9/25 so perhaps that is why. Regardless, if you can postpone your trip a month you can likely get the Venetian/Palazzo for $130/night Fri~Sun/Mon.Remember: generally a room is worth the money if you plan to spend a lot of time there...and in Vegas that is nearly always less time than expected. So, if you are looking for a very nice room, don't "have" to be on the strip, and are comfortable being 5 min by foot from the Wynn casino or 10 minutes from the Palazzo then give this bid a shot!Best of luck to all bidders.
Steven Seagal Posted August 22, 2011 Report Posted August 22, 2011 I'll be in Vegas the same weekend as well, 9/23-9/25 and I too noticed its outrageous price, yes multiple factors are to blame, concerts, expos, etc. If you absolutely need a place to stay and don't care where it is, private message me and I can help you get Circus Circus for about $85/nite or an Excalibur Widescreen Room for about $150/nite. I managed to get a room at Caesars for $169/nite and feel blessed. Hope everyone has a great time this weekend, and who know's we'll probably see each other and not know. Or maybe not.
