mattsack2 Posted August 21, 2011 Report Posted August 21, 2011 If I bid on a south strip 5star how do I avoid getting the Adara which does not have a casino? Thanks.
AaronJB Posted August 21, 2011 Report Posted August 21, 2011 There is no way to avoid a particular property when bidding or to guarantee a particular amenity (casino.) A better bet would be to look on HOTWIRE to look for a listing with a casino icon, although at the 5* level in the South Strip area, the Vdara has been the most commonly seen win.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
mattsack2 Posted August 21, 2011 Author Report Posted August 21, 2011 I bid from this forum for a 5star north 10/7 to 10/10.Yesterday I bid 150 and today 175 .No Luck.
AaronJB Posted August 21, 2011 Report Posted August 21, 2011 I'd continue heading higher by $5's - I don't think you're terribly far off from a win in 5* North for these dates and a winning bid may be in the $190-205 neighborhood.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
Steven Seagal Posted August 21, 2011 Report Posted August 21, 2011 Mattsack the Vdara isn't bad, its actually a really nice property, the fact that it doesn't have a casino shouldn't be a dealbreaker, walk outside and you have your choice of dozens of casinos. I've heard that Vdara is a really nice hotel.
mattsack2 Posted August 21, 2011 Author Report Posted August 21, 2011 Are there any 5star hotels in the downtown zone? Would I be safe to add the downtown zone and rebid looking to get the 2 Wynn properties,Venetian or the Palozzo?
AaronJB Posted August 22, 2011 Report Posted August 22, 2011 When you select zones on the second page of bidding, you can see whether 5* is an option in that zone. The Fremont St Vicinity zone does not have 5*'s, but there are also others. Do continue to double-check, as PRICELINE can change availability/star ratings in a zone at any time.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.

mattsack2 Posted September 29, 2011 Author Report Posted September 29, 2011 I just noticed that for a higher price you can sometimes choose 2 beds on Hotwire. Can you do this wtih Priceline?
AaronJB Posted September 29, 2011 Report Posted September 29, 2011 Please keep all discussion of this stay within this thread.HOTWIRE occasionally offers a "bed choice" option that allows one to pay for a specific bedding type. However, if you select more than 2 people on HOTWIRE, you are ensured of some sort of bedding for the amount of people in the party, but there is no guarantee as to specific bedding type (2 beds, 1 + rollaway or other combo.) PRICELINE has no guarantee, and only ensures 1 bed/double occupancy.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
