Rates are on the high side for these dates, with the "known" 5*'s in the North Trip running between $310-425. What would be your desired budget per night? I'd continue higher by $5's, but this could definitely require heading up to the $200 level, and possibly a bit higher.

Unfortunately, there's no way to know if the rates will drop, stay flat or go up closer to your dates, although all three are possibilities (and there are less examples of rates falling as the dates get closer than there were 2-3 years ago.) See the discussion in the FAQ for more detail.

HOTWIRE has a 5* hotel in the Strip South zone for $175/nite with:

Resort, Casino, Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, Business

My best guess is that this is the Aria... would this work fro your needs?

That may work, I have only researched priceline bidding on here... It looks like currently only 2 hotels have been named on the hotwire list of 5* LVS South.. Aria and Vadara.. is this correct?

I know things can charge at any time but the PRICELINE system seems pretty fool proof, except for the winning part!

Looks like the price might have change to $174...? is this the same one you were looking at?

So if the list WERE correct and only two 5* hotels were available one with a casino and one with out. HOTWIRE is showing one with, so that would mean it would have to be Aria... IF the only two choices were Vdara and Aria as the list says...? :) ? yeah?

It's common for HOTWIRE rates to fluctuate a few dollars from one search to the next.

My guess above was not based upon the fact that the hotel offered has a casino, it's based upon the fact that the exact amenity set of the current HOTWIRE offering matches previous reports for the Aria, so yes, that would be our best guess as to the most likely outcome. It's the same conclusion that you have made, but i don't want you to going forward think that you should base your guesses upon the inclusion/exclusion of one amenity icon... think of it as pieces of a puzzle, the more pieces you have that 'fit', the clearer the picture becomes.
