mbstone
1. You have to use the same CC that was used to book the original successful bid. 2. You don't get another choice of dates if the first is unavailable. In other words if you request six more nights and it's unavailable, there is no way to see if five, four, three, two nights or one night is available.3. The option to add nights is only available one time, and I am beginning to think that the "one time" registers the first time you click on the "Add extra nights" link. In other words if you don't hit "Buy Hotel Room Now" and close the window you have forfeited the opportunity to request extra nights.4. Tonight I tried to add one extra night to a $55 room and was told I could have it for $85. No opportunity, of course, exists to ignore the counteroffer and go out and start a new bid for $58. TravelingQueen
Thanks for the heads up. By any chance, can you add dates prior to or only after the original date selected? Link to comment
thereuare
You can add nites to the beginning or end of your stay, but not both. As well, you can only add up to the same number of nites as your originally booked. So..Book 1 nite = Add 1 niteBook 2 nites = Add 1 or 2 nitesBook 3 nites = Add 1 or 2 or 3 nitesetc, etcHowever, also note that even when the option to extend your stay is offered, it doesn't guarantee a room... PRICELINE can come back with one of three responses:1) accepted and you've extended your stay2) they have a room at the same hotel but only at a price of $xx, and you can then decide if you're willing to pay the higher price or not3) no inventory available at the hotel for the additional nite(s)Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. hohogap
You can always start a new bid by rejecting the offer at the higher price, clicking out of PL and then re-entering the site through the BB PRICELINE link above. It clears your prior choices and would also allow you to use different zone combinations. As Thereuare said, no guarantee that the additional night(s) will be available even if PL offered to extend. It takes a few seconds longer, but well worth the time if you wanted to change any parameters. You pay an additional PL fee for extending the nights even if you did it directly from their first offer, just as if it were a new reservation bid, so you're not losing anything by making a completely new bid! thereuare
...so you're not losing anything by making a completely new bid!... except on a completely new bid you could receive a different hotel, whereas extending the stay thru PRICELINE's offer ensures the same property. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. hohogap
Agreed, but I presumed (possibly incorrectly) that mbstone had already rejected the offer for extension because of the higher price or was looking for a better deal using different criteria, even if it meant moving. Good point for those that might not use PL on a consistent basis! Link to comment

jicms
How quickly would I have to add an additional night? I won't know if I need it until the day before so would this be an option. Link to comment
thereuare
You have up until 11am on the day of check-out to add nite(s)... but keep in mind that just because the option to add a nite is offered doesn't mean that you'll be successful in doing so (the offer to add nites is not indicative of the hotel necessarily having inventory for your additional nites)Here is the full terms and conditions for Priceline Extend Your Stay.
