kkey36 Posted August 19, 2011 Report Posted August 19, 2011 I have been bidding on 4* hotels in Baltimore for a Sun - Tuesday. I have gone all the way up to $99 and so far no takers. Do you think that the Ravens home opener (1pm start) on Sunday could be raising the prices? In the past I have had winning bids for the Hilton, the highest rate being $79 per night.Any insight would be great!

I then get an instant response that a bid of $100 will be accepted. My following bids from 75 have not been accepted. Yet. I will keep trying.
Romelle Posted August 24, 2011 Report Posted August 24, 2011 You were wise not to accept that $100 counter-offer. All it means it that there now is something available somewhere between $75 and $100. You've got time to work gradually up. I count 8 possible free rebid zones for Baltimore. Please post back if you are unfamiliar with the rebid process.Romelle
thereuare Posted August 24, 2011 Report Posted August 24, 2011 My following bids from 75 have not been accepted. It's not clear from your post... after $75 and receiving the $100 counter-offer, how high did you bid? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. kkey36 Posted August 25, 2011 Author Report Posted August 25, 2011 I bid $79, $83 and $85, adding Mt. Vernon, West Baltimore and East Baltimore. I will just keep trying each day. It is kind of exciting. :) Thank you for all your help!
thereuare Posted August 25, 2011 Report Posted August 25, 2011 Are you still bidding 4* Inner Harbor-Downtown? If you're still bidding 4* you actually have EIGHT re-bid zones so you could use them to increase by $2/bid and get to the $100 counter-offer the next time you bid... or are you not willing to bid that high just yet?Keep in mind that while rates could come down, they could also go up... and the $100 counter-offer available yesterday could disappear, so if you are willing to bid up to $100 i would do so if you're looking to lock this in.If you're unsure regarding bidding see this thread, Priceline Re-Bidding Explained, and feel free to confirm your re-bid zones with the board. Thanks for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your bidding.Good luck and/or let us know how we can be of further help.
