aimee0715
I used the PRICELINE link on this site to book a room for two nights in downtown Charlotte. I had $140 Priceline bonus cash good for a 2-night stay. I initially tried $75 but it was not accepted. I added in Gastonia as a search area knowing there were no 4* hotels there (a tip I learned by lurking on these boards) and upped my bid to $95. I wound up with the Hilton City Center. I was very pleased to get this hotel for this price. It is going for $149 per night on non-name-your-own-price Priceline. If I had not procrastinated so long about getting a room, I probably would have played around with my bid price more and bid up in smaller increments. However, there is a scrapbooking convention at the Westin that weekend and a Britney Spears concert downtown on the first night of my stay so I figured it probably wasn't a good weekend to find a bargain room downtown.
