tehlith Posted August 18, 2011 Report Posted August 18, 2011 Hi all, I am looking to book a two night stay in NYC, NY. My girlfriend and I are planning on attending Broadway shows Friday and Saturday night. I am not committed to a certain district but I will like to be within reasonable walking distance of the theaters if possible (Theater District/Midtown West?). We will be staying in NY 9/30/2011 through 10/02/2011. I am looking for a 3.5* or 4* hotel and hoping to keep the price at a reasonable $200-$250 per night with taxes and fees included (as reasonable as that truly is). I am not opposed to using other hotel services.Thank you for any and all help with this,Matt
tehlith Posted August 18, 2011 Author Report Posted August 18, 2011 Just a quick update;I have tried bidding using the bidding method listed on this site. By using the free rebids I put in bids up to 175 and did not get any hits. After taxes/fees the total comes to near $220/night already. Hotwire is currently listing a "Downtown - SoHo - Financial District area hotel" for $219/night ($270/night with fees, can still bid a little higher on Priceline first.). The hotel is listed on Hotwire as a 4.5* hotel but I have heard that Hotwire lists hotels a little higher than Priceline.Does anyone know what hotel this most likely is?4.5-star Hotel in Downtown - SoHo - Financial DistrictAmenities:Fitness CenterRestaurant(s)Business CenterHigh-Speed Internet Access90% of Hotwire reviews recommend 200+ total reviews4.0/5.0 on Trip AdvisorAny help is appreciated,Matt
thereuare Posted August 19, 2011 Report Posted August 19, 2011 The amenities of the 4.5* property above are common for NYC, but this does match the W Hotel Downtown, so that would be my best guess for this one.Have you only bid the MTW and TS zones thus far? What are your thoughts for your next move? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
