Priceline Hotel: 3.5* San Francisco (USE) Galleria Park

Hello!

I am looking to stay in San Francisco from 09/02/2011 to 09/06/2011 at a 3.5* to 4* hotel in the following areas:

USE

USW

Embarcadero

Fisherman's Wharf

My ceiling is about $140 dollars a night, but of course I'd rather start off lower :)

I already tried going up to about $115 dollars using the bidding strategy / links found here, but to no avail. Can someone help with a strategy? Also, I have considered the SOMA location, but I am wondering if that is a safe neighborhood, close to Union Square, etc. Thanks.

Are you willing to pay more for a higher rated hotel OR is your goal the least expensive 3.5* or better for this stay?

Another user won the 3.5* rated Galleria Park for $135 for the same nites as your own, as per this priceline hotel winning bid.

Alternately, what i'm guessing to the be the Warwick San Francisco in the USW is available for $137/nite, if that is of any interest (and the Pickwick Hotel is available for $144/nite)

I would like to go cheapest possible for a 3.5 *. My preference of area is USE, Embarcadero, USW, FW. Galleria Park looks like a nice stay.

Is it best to make these bids ASAP, or is it a better idea to wait til closer to the date?

If you're sure you're going, on days with high demand it's best not to wait. You could get shut out.
