Priceline Hotel: Issue w/ London - Sept 14-17, 2011

I have tried booking a hotel in London in every zone (4* and 5*) all the way up to $240 and still can't get anything. Should I be concerned? I see that others have made bookings on these days in the past month for less than half of what I'm bidding. I've never had an issue with London on Priceline before until now. Is there something I don't know about?

Rates are definitely high on HOTWIRE, with a number of zones having no availability. There are a few options though - are you seeing anything of interest on HOTWIRE when searching? Additionally, just to confirm, are all zones in the London area of interest?

Everywhere except for the Docklands. Which we'll do if necessary, but not until worst case scenario. I hate to pay $300/night for the Hilton London Metropole directly when someone got it for $80 a few weeks ago.

My 2 cents...just be patient. I am also looking to book London the first week of September on two seperate set of nights. After trying for 2 weeks, finally got a 4* for 85$ for one set of nights. No need to panic. Plenty of time before your trip. London has more than 125,000 rooms. Something will come up. If you are that concerned about it book a regular room rate on Orbitz, use dealpros10 or <not permitted by merchant> for a 10% off rate, as your back up. September rates are definitely high. No idea why. August rates were lower.
